Safeguarding Children and Young People Statement

Keeping You Safe

A child is  anyone who is under 18 years old.  This is for anyone under 18 years old.

We want to make sure that everyone at TJK has a safe, happy and healthy time with us.

It is wrong that any child is seriously hurt by what someone does to them. Sometimes people do things they should not. Sometimes this might be an adult or other children or teenagers.

It is wrong for any child to be forced to do something that they know is wrong.

It doesn’t matter if this is online or in person. Do not keep it secret if someone is making you feel very bad or upset.

We do our best to make sure that everyone who works with us knows how to keep children and young people safe.

If we notice anyone treating children badly, we will  take it seriously and do something about it, (even if it is another child).

We make sure that everyone who works with us knows what to do if a child tells them they do not feel safe.

We think it is very important that there are people for children to talk to if they have any serious worries about someone who works with us.

All of our senseis have been trained to listen to children if they want to tell them that they feel unsafe with anyone.

If you feel unsafe with anyone, or made to do things that you think are wrong and you do not want to talk to your sensei, you can tell someone else.

If you are very worried about someone else, please tell us.

They will not tell tales about you or anyone else. They will not tell anyone else unless they are very worried about your safety.

They will listen to you. They will take you seriously. They will do the right thing.

If someone at TJK or someone else has made you feel unsafe or made you do things that you think are wrong, you can Call or text Sensei Amanda:07930 696260
